Rep. Eric Burlison, R-Mo., takes over the gavel of the House subcommittee responsible for energy and environmental policy.
First elected in 2022, Burleson will serve as chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs. The House Agriculture Committee has also announced names of subcommittee chairs in recent days.
Burleson succeeds Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas), who led the panel in 2023 and 2024. In his new position, he is unable to assume leadership of the subcommittee.
Under Fallon’s leadership, the Energy Policy Subcommittee has taken an aggressive stance on President Joe Biden’s environmental policies, such as the liquefied natural gas export ban and vehicle efficiency rules.
