One of the Iranian government’s measures to develop environmental diplomacy is to convene a regional summit to combat sandstorms in 2022.

The meeting was attended by ministers and representatives from regional countries and six international institutions, and the final statement of the meeting was approved as the Tehran Declaration.

Taking into account the increasing occurrence of dust storms in the region and environmental statements on strengthening environmental diplomacy, the current administration aims to support regional and global interactions to address not only sustainable development issues but also other key issues such as water diplomacy and transboundary waters.

Exchange regional and global experiences in the field of environment, lay the foundation for promoting interaction and benefit from global experience and modern knowledge, and participate in environment-related negotiations at all levels to attract resources, enhance capabilities and ensure national interests.
